“Wonderful,” I said, standing up to let him plop down in the middle of
the bed, which he promptly did. I climbed atop the sweaty beast, and did my best to imagine I was anywhere else as I went to work on his hairy back. “We’ll have you nice and loose in no time,” I assured him. “You’ll be so relaxed you’ll be able to set my world on fire like never before.”

“Fire” was the password – I couldn’t resist, knowing the connotation it would surely bring to mind when it came to my parents and Ewan – and once the word was out of my mouth, Sarah was out of the bath chamber and tiptoeing
over to the bed. I rubbed both his arms playfully, and he didn’t resist at all as I picked them up and drew them close together behind him. With his head turned to the left, he didn’t see Sarah appear on his right and slip the shackles on. The clink of cold metal upon itself as they snapped shut was manna to my ears in that long moment.

“What’s this, then?” he said, not looking up just yet.
“I see you like it
very
rough, then? Nothing like either of your parents, but I like that!”

“I’m sure you do,” I sai
d, still straddling him while Sarah walked around behind the bed and set about tying his legs up.

“Oh no you don’t!”
he said, splaying his legs and twisting around. “Not on our first night anyway!” He turned hard enough to cause me to lose my balance and slide off him. I quickly rolled off the bed and out of his reach before I recalled that his hands were bound and he couldn’t reach for me anyway. In that instant several things happened at once: he saw Sarah, realized we were in cahoots, began bellowing and struggled to his feet to rush at her. I sprang to my feet and looked around for something heavy to swing at his head. Finding a vase on the dresser, I chased after him and arrived just a bit too late to stop him from kicking Sarah into the wall. He had just enough time to admire her crumpling up against the wall before I clocked him with the vase, which didn’t break but did knock him over. Sarah, recovering quickly, jumped atop him to pin him to the floor while he was still dazed from my dead-on hit.

He
was screaming bloody murder, but Sarah clamped her hands over his mouth and managed to keep her balance atop him like I hadn’t been able to a moment before. I retrieved the rope, jumped atop his legs and forced them together, and in a matter of moments we had his legs tied together and the rope strung through the chains on his hands, so he was splayed bent backwards on the rug. He’d bitten into Sarah’s fingers a time or two, but she still managed to keep her hands over his mouth. As a final touch, I retrieved my girdle from the bath chamber, wadded the sweaty, filthy thing into a ball, and stuffed it into his mouth.

“Careful with that,” Sarah pointed out. “He might actually
like
it.”

“I hope he does,” I said. “Because he’s stuck with it for now, isn’t he? I
do hope his screams didn’t alert anyone.”

“I doubt it,” Sarah called from the bath chamber, where she was rinsing the blood off her hands and tending to his bites. “We’re all used to him bellowing like that whenever there’s a woman in here!”

“Now, are there any clean clothes I could use?” I asked.

Sarah directed me to a wardrobe by the door, which was stocked with frocks, some of them in my size. “He wasn’t sure of your size these days, so he ordered a wide assortment,” she explained. I opted for a pale b
lue one that flattered my figure quite well, and decided not to bother with underclothes for the moment. We wouldn’t be leaving right away, after all.

With
Gordan secure on the floor, Sarah led me off to the servants’ wing. “I’m not sure just where they’ll be keeping him,” she explained. “But odds are we’ll be able to find him somewhere here.”

A male servant stepped out of a room on our left. “What the devil
are the pair of you doing in the men’s quarters?” he demanded.

“We’re looking for the hostage,” Sar
ah told him.

“Will his lordship want you setting him free?”

“His lordship doesn’t get a vote on this,” Sarah said.

“What on earth are you on about?”

“He’s met his match,” Sarah said, gesturing to me.

“Good heavens, what have you done?!” The young man did
not look unhappy at the news.

“We’ll explain it if you’ll bring us to Ewan and set him free,” I told him. “If you don’t do as you’re told, though, I’ll remind you that I’m set to be the lady of the house. If you do, I can make it worthwhile for you.”

“You can trust her, James,” she reassured him. “And believe me, you do not want to miss what we’ve done to Gordan.”

“I…” He turned to me. “I know Sarah, and I believe that. Come this way.”

He led us down the hall to a tiny, spare room where Ewan was lying awake on a four –poster bed, tied to each post at his wrists and ankles. “Am I ever glad to see you!” he told me. “But how?”

“Sarah here gets most of the credit,” I told him as the three of us set about untying his ropes.

“Nonsense, Lord Galbraith,” Sarah said. “Brianna here is the hero of all this, I assure you!”

“I hope I am not long in learning just what has happened…”
Ewan said in obvious disbelief as he stood up, newly freed and rubbing at his wrists.

“You won’t be, I assure you,” I told him. “For now, h
ere’s what you should know: forgive me, but I have told Sarah everything about your past with Gordan and Father – and Mother, too. Of course she was more than happy to help once all that was known.”

“I –“

“Not now, Ewan! There will be time aplenty for you to reprimand me for that if you wish. Right now, we’ve got other business to attend to.”

“Just what other business is that, anyway?” Sarah asked me. “I’m with you, whatever it is, but…”

“You and James will have to wait out in the hall, I’m afraid,” I explained. “You’ll be our guards for the time being, if that’s okay.”

“Absolutely!”
Sarah said, and I could see she understood perfectly.

James didn’t. “This ought to be good,” he said in a mystified tone of voice.

“It is!” Sarah reassured him.

Hand in hand, I
guided Ewan back through the maze of hallways we had taken, back to Gordan’s bedroom. On the way, Ewan said, “I don’t mind in the least who knows of my past if it means defeating that bastard, but what the devil…”

“You’ll see!” I told him.
“You too, James.” When we arrived back at Gordon’s chamber, I flung open the door and stepped aside as the men walked in.

“Good heavens!” James said, and he leapt back out into the hallway and into Sarah’s
arms, and they laughed together in relief. “I don’t know how you did that, but it’s priceless! The bastard is beaten!”

“James has suffered along with me for a long time,” Sarah told us, as if we couldn’t tell.

Ewan said nothing, but stood there staring at Gordan, who glared back at him from his spot on the floor, still helpless and writhing about uselessly, attempting to spit out my girdle and yell at us, but succeeding only in a perverse, inarticulate series of grunts.  Slowly Ewan’s expression turned from disbelief to fear, and finally to happiness. He strode, gingerly at first and then more confidently, near to our prisoner, and at last addressed him. “So, Gordan, my friend. You and Lord Douglas conspired to have me deliver his daughter to you, and I see I have succeeded in every way I could have imagined. You, of course, had no idea just what sort of woman she had grown to be; but I see you know full well now. Careful what you wish for, my friend, you may well get it!” Turning now to me, he said, “I trust you’re going to explain this all to me later, Brianna. I would not miss the story behind this for all the gold in the world!”.

“Of course I am,” I said.
“After we get away.”

“And start over somewhere on our own.
With my money from home.”

“Which you’ll find a way to collect before he’ll have any chance of getting wo
rd back to Father.”

“Who wouldn’t be able to object anyway, as it would destroy his reputation if everyone learned the truth of that night in the
barn.” At this, Gordan kicked and whined more intensely than ever, but once again to no avail.

“And we live h
appily ever after. With Sarah and James as our well-paid help.”

“Indeed.
Perhaps a nice house in Inverness, or even London if the fancy should strike us.”

“But first,” I said, turning to Sarah and James
, “can the two of you stand watch outside for a quarter of an hour or so?”

“I should think so,” Sarah said, a knowing glint in her eye. Dutifully they stepped out into the hall, and I shut the door. Turning to Ewan, I said, “I am truly sorry for how he took Mother away from you when you were the man she lo
ved. But do tell me, and I shall remind you that you know me well enough to have no fear of offending my ladylike sensibilities, exactly what did he mean by ‘what my mother was like’? Your account of the whole sordid tale suggested that he never succeeded in anything with her.”

“I’m sure I have no idea what he meant, if indeed he meant anything,” Ewan declared, taking me in a fond embrace that once again roused
Gordan, who remained helpless to do anything but writhe about on the floor. “He has had all these years to imagine life with her, after all, when in reality he could only succeed in keeping her from me, only to lose her to his dearest friend. If I had to guess, I could only assume he has imagined taking your mother to his bed so many times now that it seems real to him. But on my word of honour, I know of only the one occasion of which I have already told you that he was ever alone with her. And between my well-timed arrival and her own resolve to fight him off, he succeeded only in destroying first her dress and then her life. And mine, I thought at the time, but now I see he was only able to delay my finding true joy in life!” At that point he leaned in as if to kiss me, but I was already of a mind to do so and, standing on my toes, I met him rather more than halfway.

We were silent in that moment of tenderness, our lips locked together deliciously, with only
Gordan’s wounded outrage for accompaniment. When at last the kiss was over, we both looked down at him and burst into victorious laughter. “Shall we show him just exactly what he’ll be missing for the rest of his miserable life?” I suggested.

“And how!”
Ewan agreed. I already had his shirt pushed most of the way up his well-developed chest, which contrasted so beautifully with Gordan’s flabby torso. He raised his arms and I pushed it up and over his head. He lost no time in unbuttoning my dress, and presently I was once again nude, a state I was coming to feel was almost normal in that room. Still wearing his pants, which sported a wonderful bulge now, Ewan carried me to the bed, giving Gordan a swift kick in the back on the way, and lay me on the sheets. Gordan offered up his loudest grunt yet, and squirmed around as if to trip Ewan up; but Ewan easily evaded his efforts.

Ewan spread my legs gent
ly and took a long, victorious look at Gordan, who was glaring up at us; I could only just see his hateful stare over the side of the bed. Then Ewan looked back at me and knelt down at the end of the bed, and without another word he dove in between my thighs.

I had heard of such things before, but none of Father’s men had ever been willing – always some silly idea that women were unclean somehow – and so the lovely flicking of Ewan’s tongue about my vulva was as much a revelation as a delight. The very int
ense touch soon had me grabbing at fistfuls of the blankets as I almost wanted to writhe away, but not quite. I let out the tension in joyful screams well before he brought me to orgasm, even louder than I was naturally inclined to make because of Gordan’s presence, and louder still once I was coming. Through it all, Gordan’s hateful presence was a wonderful enhancement to our pleasure, as we all three knew this was the closest he would ever get to touching me again.

After I climaxed, I took a deep breath
and a pleasantly exhausted sigh, and then patted on the bed for Ewan to come join me. “Lie back,” I said, and he did, his cock pointing straight up. After catching my breath, I took it gently in both hands and, straddling him, I guided him inside me. “Now let’s show him what
you
can do for me!” I said.

“And he never could!” Ewan said between moans.

“Not even if we were ever to let him!” I agreed.

I rocked back and forth on him, slowly and luxuriantly, to Ewan’s audible delight and
Gordan’s clear frustration judging from the rare glances I cast at him. Our voices joined together in a lovely primal harmony, and he reached up and teased my breasts as I ground into him. Several minutes went by, each one more obviously frustrating to Gordan than the last as he was now grunting and writhing about on the floor.

Once again I felt Ewan’s orgasm, and the thrill of that sensation sent me over the edge into my second one. I then collapsed upon him in a joyous embrace that we shared in silence for a few minutes.
Gordan had finally given up on whining, so now the room truly was silent but for his occasional vain efforts to undo his ropes and chains.
