I woke the next morning to the sounds of breaking glass followed by gunshots. I pulled my pants on, grabbed my rifle, and headed out the door. Gina was right behind me. We ran into the hallway. Rick was coming out of the master bedroom.
“Where's your gun?” I yelled over the non-stop sounds of gunfire coming from below.
He ran back into the bedroom and came out with his rifle. The three of us headed down the steps.
