“You’re amazing,” Alex whispered.

Wayde lay on top of him, their
bodies meshing together as if they were two halves come together in perfect
unison. Wayde rubbed against him, their cocks sliding together.

“Yes,” Alex moaned. “Grind into
me.”

The sharp scent of sex rose in the
air as juice leaked from each of their tips, making their slide slippery.

“I want you,” Wayde murmured into
his ear.

Alex felt the sharp length of
Wayde’s
teeth against his neck. He felt the vampire’s sharp
teeth running against the skin and shivered in response. Alex stretched his
neck more, baring the smooth skin.

“Drink me, Wayde. Take me.”

With a growl deep in this throat,
Wayde bit down, piercing the skin. Alex immediately went up in flames as the
teeth sank in, at first painful, but a second later a wave of lust so raw and
powerful he was unable to do anything more than buck under
Wayde’s
powerful body. His cock swelled almost painfully and he knew it wouldn’t take much
else for him to come. And then Wayde withdrew his fangs, leaving Alex to float
in some type of subspace as Wayde flipped him over and pulled his hips up.

Cool lube splashed down his crack
and Wayde slid one finger inside his rosette, opening him up. Alex felt a sharp
sting but breathed through it, and then another finger pressed in. The pain
subsided and he thrust his ass out a little more, wanting to feel Wayde inside
him. When he withdrew Alex groaned his displeasure, but stopped when he felt
Wayde pressing against his entrance.

Little by little Wayde slid in,
slowly, taking his time. Alex felt the burning pain as the big cock went deeper,
but in the pain there was also a pleasure that Alex had to admit he hadn’t felt
in a long time. Most of the time, sex was simply sex for the sake of it. It
didn’t mean a damn thing. But with Wayde everything was different. He pushed
back to take him even deeper, moaning as he spread his thighs a little wider.

When he was finally seated, Wayde
paused a moment and laid his forehead against Alex’s back, breathing deeply. He
could feel the other man’s heart hammering and it excited him that he was able
to bring this much excitement to the vampire.

And then Wayde started moving,
started thrusting. Pulling out, pushing in, lightly at first, to make sure Alex
was fully relaxed,
then
gaining in speed and
intensity. Wayde placed his palms on either side of him and brought his knees
up, giving him better leverage as he started to thrust heavily.

“Oh!” Alex moaned. “Fuck me, Wayde.
Harder.
Please, go harder!”

Wayde
obliged, working his cock deeper, harder, filling him in places he hadn’t even
known he had. He writhed under Wayde as his balls slapped against him with each
thrust. Alex grasped his own cock, knowing there was no way he was going to
last much longer.

And then Wayde
bit him again. Not a little nip or love bite, but a full-on set of teeth
sinking into his skin. The sharp stab of pain slicked through him, making him
erupt in his hands. As he convulsed, he felt Wayde swell inside him, planting
himself as deep as he could get before spasms raked him. Alex felt the hot seed
coat him inside as
Wayde’s
hips jerked with his
release.

Then Wayde
let go from the bite and he collapsed. His weight was too much for Alex’s quivering
body and he sagged to his side. He felt the vampire lick the tender stop at his
neck, sealing the wounds, before placing a soft kiss upon the area.
He shifted his body to curl and cuddle around Alex’s.

They
stayed like until their breathing settled and their heart beats returned to
normal as their bodies cooled. Wayde picked up one of Alex’s hands and kissed
the knuckles. Everything was different now.

“Did I
hurt you?”

“No. It
was amazing.”

“For me,
too,” Wayde admitted.
“The best.”

“Really?
Sex for
four thousand years and this was your best?”

“Why does
that seem incredulous to you? I’ve had great sex in the past, yes, but with you
it’s different.
Just as it will be different with Daphne.”

Alex let
out a deep sigh and threw his arm over his head. “I’m just…still confused about
this whole pheromones business. I don’t want it to be a love potion.”

“Love
potions aren’t real.”

“I know. That’s
my point.”

“What do
I have to do to convince you what we have is beautiful and meaningful and meant
to be?”

He pulled
the vampire into his arms and kissed him on the forehead. “I don’t know. Just
give me time, I suppose.”

“I can do
that,” Wayde said as he snuggled into Alex’s arms.

Chapter Fourteen

They left the next night, as soon
as Wayde rose and dressed. A taxi drove them to the dock where they caught a
ferry to
Seattle
.
Sea-
Tac
wasn’t that crowded which made boarding quick
and painless. They all sat in first class with Wayde and Alex separated by the
aisle. Daphne sat next to Alex.

Wayde sipped red wine while Alex
and Daphne ate dinner. He watched as they talked and got to know one another
better, something he had planned for them to do since they hadn’t spent as much
time together. Everything had happened so fast that he’d be the first to admit
their connection seemed a bit rushed. Instant love, as some would say. He’d
been a personal friend to Jane Austen, so he knew all about instant love. Still,
experiencing it was something different. Perhaps it wasn’t love yet, but he
truly felt as if he’d been waiting for these two people his whole existence.

The question was
,
did they really feel the same?

When they touched down in
Los Angeles
, it was just
past
midnight
.
The middle of the day for him, really.
He led them quickly
through the huge LAX terminal and found the driver he’d arranged for holding up
a sign with his name on it.

“Hello,” he greeted the driver who
was dressed in a dark suit. “We need to grab our luggage.”

“Yes, Mr. Wallace,” the driver
murmured.

Twenty minutes later, they were
seated in the back of a limousine heading toward their hotel in
Beverly Hills
.

“A limo?”
Alex asked.

“I have a lot of money,” Wayde told
him succinctly. “I don’t travel much, obviously, but when I do, I want it in
style. Expect everything to be at your beck and call during this trip.”

Even though he’d warned them, when
they reached their hotel, Daphne’s mouth fell open and she seemed hesitant to
enter the beautiful lobby. A Gucci store was located in the lobby and he saw
her staring in awe at the display case of women’s clothes and handbags. He
would buy her anything, everything, but he thought she’d look best in nothing
at all.

Their luggage was taken away and
they were personally escorted to their room, a huge penthouse on the top floor
with a balcony overlooking
Rodeo
Drive
. There were two bedrooms, a fully stocked
kitchen, and a sunken living room with a television that dominated one wall, with
all sorts of gaming equipment ready to be played.

Wayde tipped the escort generously
and closed the door behind him before turning to his two loves. “Daphne, you
get the room on the right. The other room is mine, since it has no windows, a
secured lock, and a mini-bar full of my favorite beverage.”

“And where do I sleep?” Alex asked.

“Whichever room you’d like,” Wayde
replied. “Once Daphne is better I plan for us to be together, but for now…”

He trailed off with a shrug.

“For now, I get to play multiple
beds,” Alex replied dryly.

Daphne linked her arm through his. “You
can stay with me any time,” she murmured.

He cupped her face and kissed her
lightly on the lips. Two bright spots of color appeared on her cheeks, standing
in stark contrast to the paleness of her face. When she swayed a little, he
hurried over to her, but Alex had already swept his arm around her.

“Daphne?”

She waved a hand. “I’m fine,” she
said. But the little color that had appeared only a moment ago had fled,
leaving her listless once again. “I think I may
lay
down.”

“Okay,” Wayde replied. While Alex
walked her into her bedroom, he rushed to grab her suitcase and followed after
them.

Alex sat her on the edge of the bed
and began undressing her. Wayde put her suitcase on the luggage rack and opened
it. He found her nightgown and brought it over to her and Alex.

She stood, not making a murmur of
protest as Alex swept off her clothing, leaving her standing in her panties and
bra. Wayde couldn’t help running his finger down the old scar that dissected
her chest.

“I’ve had two surgeries,” she told
them. “One when I was four and one when I was sixteen.
Neither
worked.
After the first operation, my parents couldn’t take care of me
anymore so they gave me to the state. A nice woman took me in and kept me for
awhile. After my health started to decline again, I was moved into a state-run
hospital and once I turned eighteen, I was on my own.”

“Daphne—”

“Which is why I don’t understand
what I bring to this relationship,” she said, interrupting him. “You can’t have
sex with me, you don’t feed off me. I’m…an albatross.”

“Don’t say that,” Alex admonished.

“You’re my sun,” Wayde told her. He
ran his hand through her golden locks. “You smell like sunshine to me and since
I’ve never seen the sun, all I have to do is look at you and my world is
bright.”

She smiled at that. Alex unhooked
her bra and she let it fall aside. She was skinny, no doubt about it. But her
breasts were perky and would fit perfectly in the palm of his hand. A second
later, her nightgown floated down, covering her up.

“Sleep now,” he told her.
“Rest.
Tomorrow your life will
change,
one way or another.”

She grabbed his hand. “What is the
worst thing about being a vampire?”

He blinked, surprised by her
question. “Being alone,” he answered honestly. “I’ve watched many companions
die. I’ve seen the rise and fall of empires. I’ve witnessed the stupid
destruction of human life. All of it alone.”

“But now you have me and Alex,” she
said. “And what does blood taste like for the first time?”

“I don’t know,” he said. “I’ve
never been human, so I can’t equate blood to food, but it’s like having a
craving and as soon as it’s on your tongue it tastes like…life.”

“If you’ve never been human, how
were you born?”

“I was created in the Shade,
hatched for lack of a better word, although I wasn’t in an egg or anything,” he
said. “I was created from light and dark.”

She bit her lower lip. “Will it
hurt if I change?”

“No,” he told her softly. “It’s not
like how it is in the movies. A transformation comes through sharing blood
during sex. I take from you until you’re almost drained and then you take from
me what you need, and in this case, Alex will take from both of us. It will
bind us together.”

“And I’ll be a vampire?”

“Yes,” he said.

“Okay,” she replied and gave him a
wan smile. “Thank you for answering my questions.”

“Ask me anything,” he told her. He
kissed her lightly on the lips.
“For now, rest, my lovely.”

Alex also kissed her and then they
helped her into bed and pulled the covers up to her chin. She closed her eyes
and they retreated back to the living room.

“Beer?”
Alex asked.

“Please.”

“Is alcohol the only thing you can
drink?”

“Yes. I think it has something to
do with the fermentation process. I don’t know
,
I
never analyzed it too deeply.”

Alex poured him a glass and then
opened a beer from
himself
and took a long swallow. He
gave a little belch before leaving the bar area and sitting on the sofa. Wayde
followed and sat next to him.

“What time is our appointment with
Dr.
Rennix
?” Alex asked him.

“Tomorrow night
at
eight o’clock
.”

“A sorcerer?”

Wayde chuckled. “Yes. I’ve not had
much luck with sorcerers, but I’ve heard Dr.
Rennix
really cares about patients.”

“Why haven’t you had much luck with
sorcerers?”

“My ex.”

“Ah.”

“Ended badly.
He became a bit…too obsessed. He didn’t like that he couldn’t control me. Vampires
aren’t susceptible to mind control.”

“That’s frowned upon by the
Council.”

“Ironic since he works for them.”

“Huh?
Which one?”

“Simon.”

“Really?
He
doesn’t seem your type.”

“And you know my type?”

Alex loomed over him and kissed him
soundly on the lips with a loud smack. “I’m your type.”

Wayde grabbed him around the waist
and dragged him closer. “Tonight, will you sleep with me in my bed?”

Alex silently nodded.

Wayde stood and pulled him down the
hall. Once inside the bedroom, he pulled Alex into him, melding his lips
against the other man’s gently, starting the kiss slowly, letting the magic
build. Already his heart pounded heavily in his chest, and his hands were a
little unsteady as he pulled Alex’s hips into his.
