“Come for me, Laura. If you want me to come inside you, milk me dry.”

“Sweet Jesus,” she gasped. “Oh, yes! Rick! Yes!”

On a scream, she came. He followed. Hot seed spilled from his cock into her body, bathing her. The rightness of it filled Laura with a contentment she’d never known. She belonged to Rick Carver. Heart and soul. Mind and body. When he looked up into her eyes, she knew he belonged to her as well.

Shuddering, Rick let his own orgasm overtake him. If they lived to be a hundred, he knew he’d never get enough of his sweet Laura. She was everything he’d always wanted but had never managed to find. Now that he had, he had no intention of letting her go. She’d trusted him with her heart, trusted him more completely than anyone ever had. When Angela had thrown herself at him, Rick’s gut had clenched. He’d just known Laura would reject him. But she hadn’t. She’d believed in him, fought for him. Trusted him after everything she’d been through.

“I’m never letting you go, Laura,” he rasped out, still clutching her to him, unable to give up the closeness he got from wrapping himself around her.

“I never want you to,” she mumbled against his neck.

“Good. Besides, if I did something to run you off, my momma would have my hide.”

She giggled, snuggling closer to him. Their bodies were still joined, even though his cock was softening slightly. When her body contracted around him with a tiny aftershock of her orgasm, his cock twitched with interest.

“Your family is perfect. It should be illegal to have a family so wonderful.”

“They love you already, you know.”

“I certainly hope so. If we’re getting married, I suppose it’s always best I get along with your family.”

“Oh, have no worries on that account. As far as they’re concerned, you’re part of the family. Another daughter for them to spoil like mad.”

There was a comfortable silence between them then. Rick pulled the covers over them, still not letting Laura go. He stroked her back lazily, enjoying the feel of her silky skin beneath his fingertips.

“How did you do it?” he asked, never ceasing his caresses.

“Do what?”

“Trust me when Angela kissed me right there in front of God and everybody.”

She shrugged. “I was angry at first. Then I realized you weren’t kissing her back.
Then
I realized the emotions I felt were nothing like when Carl betrayed me. I was determined I would fight for what I wanted unless you told me to back off. Had you done that, I’d have known you were never mine to begin with.” She seemed to try to suppress the shudder that ran through her slight body, but Rick felt it anyway. “I would have dealt with it, but it would have gutted me.”

As gently as he could, Rick cupped her face, urging her to look him in the eyes. “I swear to you, Laura. I’ll never give you a reason to regret your decision to marry me. And I’ll never give you a reason to doubt giving me your trust. I’ll never betray that trust.”

She smiled, warmth filling her chocolate-colored eyes. “I know. If I had any doubts, we wouldn’t be here now.”

“You’re my hero, you know.”

“Oh, really?” She quirked an eyebrow at him.

“Absolutely. A hero to trust in me.”
